An Egyptian poet and writer, born in 1925 in the Beheira Governorate. After several years the family moved to Cairo, and he obtained his high school diploma. He contributed to the advancement of folk songs. He wrote a number of songs for the radio sung by famous artists at that time, and wrote a number of monologues for Sayed El Mallah. Since his childhood he suffered from kidney failure, and when the crisis intensified, the doctors removed one of his kidneys. He passed away on June 5, 1988, of kidney failure.
