An American cyclist, he was the record holder for most Grand Tour titles before his titles were stripped from him. Born in Plano, Texas, Lance Armstrong won the Tour de France seven times between 1999 and 2005, but was stripped of all of his titles by the International Cycling Union in 2013 after a report by the United States Anti-Doping Agency accused him of a systematic doping regime. Armstrong had undergone nearly 600 doping tests throughout his cycling career, each time coming back negative. Armstrong's former Festina teammate in 1999, the Frenchman Christophe Basson, was the first to uncover the doping program that Lance and other cyclists were following, under the supervision of Italian doctor Michele Ferrara. Armstrong has appeared in several films, under his real identity, such as the 2004 film Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, and provided the voice-over for an episode of The Simpsons in 2008.
