He attended Brighton College in Sussex before studying at Cambridge University with the intention of working as a future principal. His works include The Thief of Bagdad, Kind Hearts and Coronets, The Importance of Being Earnest, and Peping Tom. He died on March 15, 1969 in Westminster, London, England, United Kingdom.
