An American writer and actor, who grew up in Englewood, New Jersey. His father was Hal Overton, a musician and arranger in Thelonious Monk's band, and his mother was singer Nancy Overton. Rick attended Dwight Morrow High School, while his first screen appearance was in the 1982 film Young Doctors in Love, followed by Airplane II: The Sequel (1982). Among his writing credits are Dennis Miller Live (1994) and The New Adventures of Beans Baxter (1987).
