An American actor and presenter, born in Berkeley, California, United States. He is the son of actor Roger McGovern and the uncle of actress Amber Watson. He was educated at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, after studying journalism and English, and later studied acting with Stella Adler and Milton Katselas. He also worked at KDKA radio and KDKA-TV. Then he began his acting career with director George Lucas in the movie THX 1138 (1971), followed by The Candidate (1972). His other credits include American Graffiti (1973) and Mrs. Doubtfire (1993).
