Jodi Benson is an American actress, born on October 10, 1961, in Rockford, Illinois. Benson started her career as a stage singer in 1983 but was chosen amongst 500 actresses for the voice of Ariel in The Little Mermaid, for which she was nominated for an Oscar in 1989. She also participated in many other animated movies such as Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3, in which she voiced Barbie.
