A New Zealand actor. He received a diploma in acting from the Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School in 1982. He has appeared in several films, most notably The Last Tattoo (1994), The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012), The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug (2013), and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies (2014). He won the Best Supporting Actor award for The Last Tattoo at the New Zealand Film and Television Awards in 1995.
