An Egyptian-American writer, journalist, and producer, raised in the USA. When she met Hasna Ait Boulahcen, a Moroccan-French woman who was falsely accused of being Europe's first female kamikaze, she was working in the news before pursuing a career in directing and writing cinematic productions. She is known for You Resemble Me (2021) and The Square (2013).
