Jad Abi Khalil was born in 1973 in Beirut, Lebanon. He completed his cinema studies at IESAV - USA in 1998. Jad directed many films such as “His Confessor Told Me” (Short fiction, 1999); “Thirty” (Documentary, 2003); “Sir Mr. President” (Documentary, 2003),“Ayman, the king of Gnocchi” (Documentary, 2007) and “Arafat” (Documentary, 2011). In addition to his work as a director, Jad started producing feature documentaries in 2007: “The One Man Village” by Simon El Habre 85’ (2008), “The Borombo Master” by Bassem Fayad 90’ (in post-production). Jad Abi Khalil is a founding member of “Beirut DC”, the Cultural Association for Arabic Cinema. He was the chairman of its board of directors from 2009 till 2013. He is the Head of DOCmed programme since 2011.
