Iraqi singer of Armenian origin, born in Basra, Southern Iraq, on July 28, 1950. She started her singing career in 1968 and became known as the "Iraqi Fairouz." She grew up in a home fond of sports and music. Her father was Arshak Badrous, a tennis player who represented Iraq in several tournaments in the fifties and sixties. Her uncle was athlete Jamil Boutros. She started singing at the age of four and participated in many school activities. She reinvented Iraqi songs by incorporating Western instruments into her songs. She pioneered contemporary singing and pop music in Iraq. She is known for Honeymoon in Rumaila (1973).
