An Indian actress and model, born on June 8, 1975 in Mangalore, Karnataka, India. She attended St. Anthony's Girls' High School in Chembur and then entered Podar College in Matunga. She trained in dance and was captain of the school's volleyball team. Her younger sister, Shamita Shetty, also works in Bollywood. Together, they co-starred in the movie Fareb in 2005. Since her debut in the 1993 film Baazigar, she has appeared in nearly 40 Hindi films. She also won many awards and accolades for her role as an AIDS patient in Phir Milenge (2004). She was the winner of the British reality television series Celebrity Big Brother 5 in 2007. Some of her other works are Apne, Dhadkan, and Life in a Metro.
