An English actor, born in Kent, England.He spent more than twenty years as a member of the British Royal Navy, rising to the rank of captain. During his time in the Navy, he also practiced boxing. He studied acting at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and was a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford, England. He also participated in many artistic productions in Britain and the United States. He is known for Jason and the Argonauts (1963) and Patton (1970).
