An American writer, director, and animator, born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He studied art and worked in many jobs, including ushering at the Warner Bros. theater. He later joined the Walt Disney Studio as an office boy. He then became a writer for radio and television. He gained fame for creating the television series Mister Peepers, starring Wally Cox. Some of his credits include Pollyanna (1960) and The Parent Trap (1961). He died in Santa Monica, California, USA.
