British actor and writer, born on December 16, 1980, in Kingston upon Hull, Humberside, England, United Kingdom. He attended Guilford School of Acting, earning a BA with honors. He won the Oliver Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for his performance as King George III in Hamilton in 2018. He married actress Caroline Sheen. He is known for Les Misérables (2012), Beauty and the Beast (2017), Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017), and The Lighthouse (2016).
