An English writer, born on November 18, 1953, in Northampton, England, UK. He was recognized as one of the best comic book writers in the English language. In the late 1970s, he began writing for British underground and alternative fanzines before successfully publishing comic strips in magazines like 2000 AD and Warrior. Thereafter, DC Comics acknowledged him as "the first comics writer living in Britain to do prominent work in America". He is known for The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003), From Hell (2001) and Watchmen (2019).
