Biography

Egyptian writer famously known as "Baba Sharo". He was born on 21 September 1912 in Mahta Al Raml Sq., Alexandria. He graduated with a degree in Latin and Greek Literature from the Faculty of Arts, Fouad I University (Currently Cairo University) in 1939. He was hired in Cairo...Read more University with a recommendation from Taha Hussein and worked there for the rest of his life. He worked as a children's radio host for years, and wrote countless series and programs for the Egyptian Radio. He hosted over one thousand episodes of "Arabian Nights" and 300 episodes from "Al Asfahani Book of Songs". He founded the Faculty of Mass Communication at the University of King Abdulaziz and gave many lectures at the institutes of Cinema and Performing Arts. His works include The Islam and a New Life. He passed away on 10 January 1999.
