An English journalist and television presenter, born in Stockport, England. She received her education at Stockport High School for Girls, then obtained a scholarship from Newnham College, Cambridge. She served as a studio manager for BBC Radio before moving to work on television through BBC 2. Among her credits are Iris (2001) and The Touchables (1968).
