A theoretical physicist, specializing in string field theory. He was born in San Jose, California, USA, on January 24, 1947, to Japanese immigrant parents in the United States. He is the host of two radio programs, and his books are always one of the best-selling books, including the book Future Visions: How Science Will Change Our Independence in the Twenty-first Century, which was translated into the Knowledge World series. He also appeared in Horizon (1964), and Naked Science (2004).
