An American art director and production designer, who graduated in 1987 from Minnesota State University. He entered the film industry after being fascinated by cinema and theatre. In 2001, he won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Individual in Animation for Gary & Mike (2001). He is known for Isle of Dogs (2018), Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio (2022), and The Boxtrolls (2014).
