American actor born Herman Walston in New Orleans, Louisiana on 2 December 1914. His most notable works are Paint Your Wagon (1969), The Sting (1973), Popeye (1980), and Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982). His last appearance was on the TV series Touched by an Angel (2000), as he died on 1 January 2011.
