A British actress, she was born in Devon, England, to Irish immigrants. She studied at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London before pursuing a career in acting. She is known for You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger (2010), Shirley Valentine (1989), and Upstairs, Downstairs (1971-1973).
