He was an American writer and director, born on August 13, 1895, in New York, USA. He graduated from Fordham University. He co-founded Chase Productions with his brother Matt Taylor, also a writer, and wrote the Broadway play "Stopover," which was performed 23 times at the Lyceum Theatre. His notable works include Safety Last! (1923), My Best Girl (1927), and Kiki (1931). Mary Pickford's performance in Coquette (1929), which he directed, won an Oscar. He died on March 6, 1958, in Santa Monica, California, USA.
