An Italian actor, born in Sicily, on March 9, 1892. He was married to Irene Veneroni and remained with her until her death. Among his works: 20 Million Miles to Earth (1957), The Desert Hawk (195) and Down Argentine Way (1940). He began his career as a teenager on the stage of the Italian opera, then left for the United States in 1907. In New York City, he worked in a laundry, before joining an Italian theater troupe. He appeared in many silent films until the sound entered the films. He mostly played ethnic types of roles. He also frequently played the roles of priests, diplomats, and musicians. His first silent film was Orphans of the Storm (1921). Frank had a memorable role as a Moroccan rug merchant in the classic movie Casablanca (1942). He appeared in numerous series, including To Rome with Love (1970-1971). His final film appearance was in Mr. Rocco (1975). He died on October 25, 1975, at age 83.
