Ahmed Hamdy was born in Alexandria on June 13, 1942. He began his musical career singing songs composed by influential musician Sayed Darwish. He participated in many lyrical works and operettas. During his career, he was not interested in individual songs as much as he was interested in musical theater. Among his most notable lyrical works are Scheherazade as well as Isis. He participated in television series in addition to radio work as he was a capable actor besides his talent as a singer. He passed away on April 1, 2000.
