Egyptian writer of short stories, novels, plays, children's literature, and scripts. His stories have been translated into English and Yugoslavia. He won a number of awards, including Mahmoud Taymour Prize for Short Story by the Supreme Council of Culture in 1993 and the State Encouragement Award in Literature and the Medal of Science and Arts from the Supreme Council of Culture for the short story collection “It Emerges” in 1994. He is known for several publications, such as "Struggle" and “The Wall” and the play "Bats".
