An American actor and director, born in Baltimore, United States. He studied mathematics at Washington & Jefferson College and then drama at Johns Hopkins University. He then began his career in 1957 by appearing in plays in relatively small roles. He also did voice-over work for commercials, and made his film debut in The Kiss (1958). His credits include Evil Roy Slade (1972) and West Side Story (1961).
