An American actress, producer, and playwright, who was born on September 18, 1950 in Baltimore, Maryland. She studied acting at Beaver College (now Arcadia University), and graduated in 1971. She also received an M.F.A. in Acting from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. Her most famous works include: The Human Stain (2003), Rachel Getting Married (2008), The American President (1995) and The Kingdom (2007).
