He held several positions, including professor and head of the English Language Department...Read more at the Faculty of Arts, Cairo University, a publishing supervisor at the General Egyptian Book Organization, and editor-in-chief of Al Masrah magazine. Among his books are "El Naqd El Tahleely" (Analytical Criticism) and "Fann El Comedia" (The Art of Comedy). He presented several plays to the Egyptian theater, including The Crows. He also published his autobiography in two volumes; "Wahaat El Omr" (Oases of Life) in 1998 and "Wahaat El Ghorba" (Oases of Alienation) in 2000.
