Hazem Shehataا was born in 1956. He received a bachelor's degree in engineering from the Military Technical College in 1978, joined the Higher Institute of Artistic Criticism at the Academy of Arts, then received a master's degree from the Department of Arabic Language, Faculty...Read more of Arts, Cairo University. He taught theater criticism and the history of Arab theater at Helwan University (Faculty of Arts, Department of Theater) and the American University. Moreover, he served as a writer in Al Masrah magazine and as the managing editor of Fosoul magazine. He wrote the play Heads and Tails in an attempt to dramatize the poems of Amal Donkol. His other plays include People of the River. Hazem Shehatah passed away in 2005.
