An American actress, born on January 19, 1923, in New York, USA. She was best known for playing the role of Edith Bunker in the famous television series All in the Family (1968-1979), for which she won 3 Emmy Awards. She began her career in 1941 in the theater and appeared in several films, such as Klute (1971) and Michael (1996). She died at her home in New York City on May 31, 2013, at the age of 90 years.
