A Scottish actor, born in Edinburgh, Scotland. After receiving his education at Clifton Hall School in Scotland, he enrolled in the Edinburgh Academy. He temporarily served in the British Army's Royal Scots Youth Battalion until suffering an injury in an accident. He worked with the Royal Shakespeare Company. He is known for If.... (1968) and For Your Eyes Only (1981).
