An American author, born on Long Island, New York. Then her family moved to New Hampshire, USA, when she was thirteen years old. She later studied writing at Princeton University, New Jersey, graduating in 1987. She also studied at the prestigious Harvard University, Massachusetts. She has published many novels and short stories and was awarded a literary award in 2003. Some of her credits include My Sister's Keeper (2009) and Salem Falls (2011).
