American singer, songwriter, actor and film director, born on October 23, 1956 in Pikesville, Kentucky, the United States. He is best known for his pioneering country music. He has recorded over twenty-one albums and compilations, charted over thirty singles on Billboard Hot Country Songs and sold over 25 million records. He won a Grammy Award for Best Country Music Vocal Performance, Academy of Country Music Award for Best Rising Male Singer. He also participated in several films, including: Dirty Girl (2010), Crank: High Voltage, and Four Christmases (2008).
