An American actress, she was born in Chicago, Illinois, US. She was born to working-class parents in Woodlawn, Chicago. She studied at Hyde Park High School, and joined the drama club. She attended the Chicago College of Performing Arts. She is known for The Net (1995), Lost (2004-2010) and Dragonfly (2002).
