An American actress, born in Chicago, Illinois, USA, to working-class parents. Raised in the Woodlawn neighborhood, she studied at Hyde Park Academy High School and joined the drama club. She taught at Chicago High School of the Performing Arts. She is known for The Net (1995), Lost (2004-2010), and Dragonfly (2002).
