A Portuguese singer and actress, born in Lisbon, Portugal, to musicians Carlos Alberto Moniz and Maria do Amparo. Her musical career began at an early age at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. As an AFS Intercultural Programs exchange student, she traveled to Minnesota in the United States, where she attended Eden Prairie High School. She represented her country in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1996, and also won the RTP Song Festival Prize. Some of her credits include Ajuste de Contas (2000), Saber Amar (2003), Olhos nos Olhos (2008) and Fatima (2020).
