She is a British actress, born on June 22, 1927, in West Kensington, London, UK. She lived in Barnes, South West London, where her father was the head classical teacher at St Paul's Catholic School. She attended Sacred Heart Convent School (R.C.) and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. Her debut was in The Woman in the Hall (1947). She is known for Love Actually (2003), Theatre Night (1957), and Whiteoaks (1949).
