A Canadian actor, born on April 5, 1883, in Toronto. He studied engineering before turning to the theater, where he began his career in many local plays until he was able to reach Broadway in 1924, and five years later, he broke into the world of cinema. His notable films include The Treasure of the Sierra Madre (1948), for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. His son was the great Academy Award-winning director, writer, and actor John Huston. On April 7, 1950, Walter Huston passed away, two days after turning 67.
