A Japanese actress and screenwriter, born on September 14, 1968 in Tokyo, Japan. She has appeared in more than sixty films since 1996. She won the 2013 Asian Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for Chichi o tori ni. She also won the 2000 Mainichi Film Award for Best Screenplay for M/Other. Her other works include Love Exposure (2008) and Isola: Multiple Personality Girl (2000).
