A French actor, born on October 1, 1930, in Lille, Nord, France. He studied acting at the Centre Dramatique de l'Ouest. He made his debut in the movie Gigi (1949). He gained fame in the sixties and seventies, but the peak of his career was in the eighties, as he participated in notable movies, including Coup de Torchon (1981). In 1988, he participated in the Oscar-winning Italian movie Cinema Paradiso. He passed away on November 23, 2006, at the age of 76.
