An Egyptian director and writer, who is considered a pioneer of the documentary film industry in Egypt. She obtained a BA in Philosophy in 1956 and started working on television since its establishment in 1960. She obtained a diploma in film and television directing from London in 1961. She returned to Egypt in 1962, then directed a number of the most important documentary films. She is known for Nefertiti (1970), The Road of Pain (1976), and Saint Catherine's Monastery (1962).
