He is a British actor born in Brentford, Middlesex, UK on January 8, 1920 and died in Ipswich, Suffolk, UK on March 31, 2016 of pneumonia. He joined the London theater and took part in classical and Shakespearean roles. Besides, he worked on television in the early fifties. He is renowned for his roles in Cleopatra (1963), The Fall of the Roman Empire (1964), Khartoum (1966), and Antony and Cleopatra (1972).
