He is an Egyptian musician, poet, and radio broadcaster, born on March 19, 1943 in Beheira. He obtained a BA of Arts, Department of English Language, from Alexandria University in 1964 as well as a diploma in Mass Communication in 1971. He joined the Egyptian Radio in 1965 as a presenter of various programs. He held many positions until he became President of Egyptian Radio in 2001. He's best known for the program “Witness to the Age” in which he interviewed well-known public figures and presented it on television and on the pages of a two-part book. He wrote the lyrics in works such as The Time Is Here (2006), and I'm Not a Thief (1983).
