An American actor, born in New York, in the United States. He was the brother of actress Olive Deering. He studied acting with writer Robert Lewis and director Lee Strasberg, then appeared on Broadway in 1929. Before World War II, he participated in the play "Awake and Sing!" and then joined the Army Air Forces. He is known for Winged Victory (1944) and T-Men (1947). He was married to the actress Kim Stanley. He died in Englewood, New Jersey, in the United States.
