An American director, writer, and musical artist, born in Mansfield, Ohio, USA. He graduated from Franklin & Marshall College in Pennsylvania in 1971. He also studied photography and graphic design at the California Institute of the Arts. He worked in writing and directing plays. In 1991, he directed his first film, Impromptu, written by his wife, Sarah Kernochan.
