An English director, producer, and screenwriter, whose credits include Misfits, The Scouting Book for Boys, This Is England '86, and The Borrowers. In 2014, he presented his film War Book, which premiered at the London Film Festival and was the opening film at the International Festival of Film Rotterdam. In 2015, he directed the television mini-series War & Peace, produced by the BBC. His short film Cubs, about fox hunting, was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Short Film in 2006.
