An American actress, musician and producer, born in Chicago on September 5, 1940. Her family later moved to California. She won several beauty pageants in her teens. Welch attended San Diego State College, and worked in the theater and on television. After beginning her acting career, Welch soon turned into a sex symbol. Her notable films include One Million Years B.C. (1966), and 100 Rifles (1969).
