An Iraqi singer, born in 1937 in Baghdad. She grew up and was educated in its schools. Her singing talents appeared in her childhood, and she took the radio test in 1950 and succeeded in it and became one of the most famous singers. She was one of the first singers to appear on Baghdad TV in 1956, which It is considered the oldest television in the Arab world. Her songs were famous for their human and emotional sense mixed with hope and a spirit of optimism. The lyrical texts she presented were considered among the masterpieces of Iraqi songs for more than half a century. She became famous in the countries of the region, and her fame transcended the local borders, especially as she visited Kuwait several times and recorded many songs there with the stars of Kuwaiti singers, composers and artists, and this experience increased the fame of her artistic career. She also visited the former Soviet Union and stayed in Moscow for a period of time. She retired in the late eighties of the last century, after which she left for the Jordanian capital, Amman, to live there with her daughter. She died on Sep. 19.2018, at the age of 75 years.
