Dick Powell was born Richard Ewing Powell in Montan View, Arkansas, USA, on November 14, 1904. In 1960, Powell received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Powell began his artistic career as a musician and as an actor in the thirties. In the fifties, he worked as a producer and director, in addition to acting, in cinema and television. His notable movies as a director include The Conqueror (1956). He died on January 2, 1963 in Los Angeles, California.
