An American actress, born in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, on April 19, 1933 as Vera Jayne Palmer. She was a sex symbol in Hollywood in the 1950s and 1960s. Her most important work include the movie The Girl Can't Help It (1956), and the television series The Match Game (1962). Jayne Mansfield died on June 29, 1967, in Slidell, Louisiana, following a road accident.
