An American actor, he was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, on March 24, 1924. He got married to Dolores Pikoo (1954-1954), then married Diane Weiss (1973-1973), with whom he had two daughters, and then married Karen Weingard (1995-195), with whom he had a child, who died of cerebral palsy at the age of five. He won a Golden Globe Award in 1979 for Outstanding Supporting Actor in the Television Series Three's Company (1977-1984). He participated in World War II as a gunner in the Pacific Air Forces. He graduated from Temple University in 1946 after obtaining a bachelor's degree in drama, he got small roles on television and theater, and soon rose to prominence. Among his most prominent works are Ocean's 11(1960), and The Graduate (1967). He died on December 14, 1998 in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA of bone cancer, and was in his late days under the care of his two daughters, Mara and Tracy.
